Lambeau Field Clean Up Dates!

Hi Team!

Remember how much FUN we had cleaning Lambeau Field last year?!?  Well, good news!  We get to do it 4 more times!  Hooray!  That's a minimum of $2,100!  We are planning on using the money we raise at Lambeau to purchase team bags.

This year we will be working with the girls team to ensure that we have at least 30 people each time.  Of course, the more people we bring to each clean-up, the more money we make, so I'm hoping we get 40+ each time.    Each team member needs to commit to volunteer at least twice (you can definitely come more than twice!) and you need to bring at least one parent to one of those two dates.

Here are the 2017 Dates:

Sunday, June 18th at 1-4 pm
Monday, July 31st at 4:30-7:30 pm
Friday, August 11th, at 4:30-7:30 pm
Friday, September 1st, at 4:30-7:30 pm

All kinds of directions will be posted once it gets closer to the first clean-up date.  Please email me or text me and let me know which dates work for you.  I can't tell you how excited I am to clean Lambeau with  all of you 4 more times!

Athletes of the Week!

 Hi Team!

Wow!  How wonderful was last Saturday's Conference meet?!?  I promise I'm going to sit down and do a couple of meet recaps once things settle down, but for now, I'd like to recognize three guys who did a spectacular job at Conference (and all year!).  This week's Athlete's of the Week are Nick O'Brien, Ian Hawley, and Benjamin Todd.

Nick dove his way onto the podium with his 7th place finishing score of 275.70.  This is Nick's first year diving for AW-K, and he has done a fantastic job improving his technique and scoring needed points all season.  Congratulations, Nick!  I see many podiums in your future!

Ian swam a season-best 50 free and dropped another 3 seconds in his 100 back on Saturday to land on the podium in 6th place! Ian also swam on the JV 400 FR which finished 11th.  Ian is an incredibly hard worker, and is totally deserving of being named Athlete of the Week!

Ben has been a huge varsity points contributor all season, and Saturday was no exception!  He dropped 3 seconds off his 200 free to finish in 7th place, and he took 8th place in the 100 fly.  He was a key member of the 200 FR which finished in 4th, and the 400 FR which took 3rd.  He went 4/4 on podiums on Saturday!  Ben has also trained extremely hard this season, and I can't wait to see what he accomplishes on Saturday!

Congratulations, guys!  I am very proud of you!

Athletes of the Week!

Congratulations to this week's Athletes of the Week, Carter Van Den Eng and Kenny McGrath!  Both guys have been big contributors in the pool this past week!  Carter has become quite the backstroke specialist this season--he has scored backstroke points pretty much every time he's swam.  Kenny has divided his time between the 500 and the 100 breast, and has scored varsity points in both events for us this season.  Both guys are quick to help out around the deck, and they are both super-nice guys. Carter and Kenny both go to Kimberly High School.

Congratulations, guys!  I am proud of you!

You Did It!

Woo Hoo!!!!

You Did It!  You Ran the Table!!!

You Beat North/East. You Beat Fond du Lac!  You Beat Oshkosh West!

ALL IN THE LAST WEEK!

AW-K guys, I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of you!  You got up there and competed together and believed and YOU DID IT!

There is no greater feeling than competing for your school (except, maybe, competing for two high schools), and you guys did it with class and great sportsmanship the whole way.  You have literally changed the course of the entire program.

I said this last night, and I truly mean it--I have never coached team with a bigger heart than this one. You guys are amazing athletes, but more importantly, you are good guys.  I am so proud to be your coach!

With lots of AW-K Pride,

Coach Vicki

PS You will always be the guys who made me cry at a dual meet (a dual meet!!).

Athletes of the Week!

Hi Team!

Congratulations to this week's Athletes of the Week, Chad Heldt and Hannan Seguin!  Both guys really knocked it out of the park at last weekend's invites--they both swam best times, and they both ended up on the podium for their individual events!  On Friday night, Hannan finished 2nd in the 100 Back, and 6th in the 200 IM.  Both Hannan and Chad swam on the Medley Relay which took 5th place.  Chad also swam on the 200 Free Relay which also took 5th place.  On Saturday, Hannan swam back on the Medley Relay, and they finished in 5th place.  He also took 7th place in the 100 IM, and 5th in the 50 back.  Chad finished 3rd in the 25 free, and he anchored the 100 Free Relay, which took 3rd. Chad also finished 7th in the 50 free.  In addition to all their accomplishments in the pool, both Chad and Hannan are doing a fantastic job as team captains this season.  They both work hard, and they are both great role models.

Congratulations, Chad and Hannan!  I am proud of you!
